El Gobierno dominicano, a través del Ministerio de Trabajo y el Comité Nacional de Salarios (CNS), dispuso un aumento de un 20% sobre el salario mínimo nacional para los trabajadores del sector de zonas francas industriales.

El ministro de Trabajo, Luis Miguel De Camps García, al informar sobre el aumento, expresó que este es producto de un trabajo continuo y coordinado para, sobre la base del consenso, lograr mejoras en la calidad de vida de los trabajadores.

“Estamos concentrados en producir los acuerdos que nos permitan avanzar hacia la mejora del salario real de los trabajadores de cada uno de los sectores del país. Es una visión del presidente Luis Abinader que ejecutamos desde este ministerio”, agregó el funcionario.

Mientras que el director general del CNS, Angel Martín Mieses, expresó que este incremento salarial se ha logrado luego de escuchar los distintos planteamientos del sector empresarial y del sector de los trabajadores.

Añadió que la nueva escala salarial fue aprobada en dos partidas, la primera de un 15 % que será efectiva a partir del 1 de mayo del año en curso y la segunda de un 5 % con efectividad al 1 de abril del año 2024.

En virtud de las atribuciones que le confieren los artículos del 452 al 464 del Código de Trabajo y su Reglamento Interior No.512 de fecha 10 de diciembre de 1997, el CNS ordenó fijar el citado salario en RD16,000.00 en la primera partida y en RD 16,700.00 en la segunda partida.

La Resolución CNS-02-2023, que dispone el aumento salarial para los trabajadores de zonas francas, modifica en cuanto sea necesario cualquier otra parte que le sea contraria. Además, la misma debe ser fijada de manera permanente en un lugar visible de cada establecimiento en donde se realice el trabajo.

La nueva Resolución modifica la No. CNS-03-21, de fecha siete (07) de diciembre del año dos mil veintiuno (2021), dictada por el Comité Nacional de Salarios, la cual fija el salario mínimo a favor de los trabajadores que prestan servicios en las empresas de zonas francas industriales.
