Universidad Santander de México donó 100,000 becas al Gobierno dominicano para diplomados en liderazgo

La Universidad Santander de México otorgó al Gobierno dominicano 100,000 becas, valoradas en 125 millones de dólares, para que igual cantidad de beneficiarios participen en el Diplomado de Liderazgo que imparte esa casa de estudios superiores.

La donación fue recibida por el viceministro de Relaciones con la Sociedad Civil, Benny Metz, en representación del ministro de la Presidencia, Joel Santos Echavarría; de manos del rector y el vicerrector de la universidad, Enrique Javier Navarro Flores y Juan Carlos Viñas.

El Diplomado en Liderazgo tiene una duración de tres meses y será ofrecido bajo la modalidad virtual, con la finalidad de que personas en lugares remotos puedan acceder y aprovecharlo.

En el acto, realizado en el Palacio Nacional, los representantes de la Universidad Santander explicaron la misión, visión, valores, así como los diferentes programas de estudios que la academia tiene disponibles para agregar valor a sus estudiantes desde cualquier parte del mundo.

"Tenemos que ir en contra el sistema para cambiar el mundo, con la mejor herramienta que es la educación y por eso estamos hoy aquí, ofreciendo capacitaciones y oportunidades para las personas de la República Dominicana", expresó Navarro Flores.

Mientras que Viñas resaltó que la academia ha venido a la República Dominicana con la finalidad de agregar valor a través de sus diferentes capacitaciones. "Nuestra misión es formar profesionales y cambiar el mundo desde cualquier lugar, utilizando como herramienta la educación", agregó.

Luego de extender unas palabras de agradecimiento, el viceministro Metz dijo que las becas serán de gran ayuda para la comunidad estudiantil dominicana, sobre todo, para aquellos que no tienen la facilidade de cursar estudios avalados a nivel internacional.

Estuvieron presentes, por el Ministerio de la Presidencia, la viceministra de Desarrollo Social, Betty Soto; las directoras Yolanda Castillo, de Recursos Humanos; Mary Rojas, del viceministerio de Relaciones con la Sociedad Civil; Carmen Minaya, de Gabinete, y Amerikana Pujol, de Articulación Interinstitucional, así  como Thelma Camarena, coordinadora de Catálogo Nacional de Calificaciones, entre otros.

También asistieron Elvys Duarte Torres, viceministro técnico de Deportes; Lorenzo Ramírez, director del Instituto Dominicano para la Calidad (Indocal), y Francisco Vegazo Ramírez,  asesor de la Presidencia, en materia de Educación Superior.

Además, Esteban Tiburcio, de la Asociación Dominicana de Rectores de Universidades (ADRU), y Loida Doñé, asesora educativa.

Por la Universidad de Santander estuvo presente María de las Mercedes Fuentes, directora de Relaciones Institucionales, y por el Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica (Conolep), Rocío C. Luna Rodríguez, directora de Modernización Administrativa y Calidad.
