El Ministerio Público de Santo Domingo Este entregó al Ministerio de Interior y Policía 152 armas de fuego ilegales de diferentes calibres incautadas como pruebas de delitos cometidos por personas ya detenidas.
Fueron recibidas por el Ministro Jesús Vázquez Martínez, quien aseguró que no volverán a las calles a herir y matar a más seres humanos, ya que no son para quitar vidas, sino para salvarlas.
Explicó que la recuperación forma parte de la Estrategia Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana “Mi País Seguro” y del acuerdo interinstitucional con el Poder Judicial y la Policía Nacional.
El funcionario dijo que los esfuerzos en la recuperación de armas deben continuar en todo el país hasta recuperar todas las ilegales y así poder brindarle al país un mayor y mejor clima de paz, respeto y seguridad, por lo que le pide a todos los actores de la sociedad involucrarse en este proceso.
En tanto, el analista del Poder Judicial, Duany Antigua Rojas, sostuvo que el objetivo de esta entrega es fortalecer el programa que desarrolla el Ministerio para combatir la inseguridad.
Sostuvo que una de las metas en agenda es el desarrollo sostenible de esta iniciativa, mediante la cual estipulan erradicar, frenar y combatir el negocio ilícito de esos artefactos.
En el acto estuvieron el director de la Policía Nacional, mayor general Eduardo Alberto Then; los viceministros Aníbal Amparo García, de Control y Regulación de Armas, Jesús Féliz Jiménez, de Seguridad Interior, y el director de Registro y Control de Tenencia y Porte de Armas, Sterling Pérez, entre otros funcionarios civiles y militares.
