Los aeropuertos internacionales de la República Dominicana registraron 58,763 operaciones aéreas en entrada y salida de vuelos en el primer semestre de este año, cifra que representa un crecimiento de 37% de las operaciones en comparación con los primeros seis meses del año 2021.

Así lo dio a conocer el presidente de la Junta de Aviación Civil (JAC) José Ernesto Marte Piantini, al concluir la sesión ordinaria del pleno de la institución de hoy.

El presidente de la Junta de Aviación Civil sostuvo que el movimiento de aeronaves comerciales en el primer semestre de este año alcanzó 15,986 vuelos más que el período enero-junio 2021, lo que representa un incremento de 37% del total de las operaciones aéreas realizadas en el mismo período el año pasado en que se registraron 42,777 operaciones de entrada y salida al territorio dominicano.

En este sentido, el presidente del organismo informó que los vuelos desde y hacia República Dominicana incrementaron 7,988 operaciones entrante y 7,998 operaciones saliente en comparación en el citado período.

Marte Piantini detalló que durante este primer semestre los tres aeropuertos de mayores operaciones aéreas son el aeropuerto internacional de Las Américas, el aeropuerto Del Cibao y el internacional de Punta Cana, los cuales gestionan el mayor volumen de carga y flujo de pasajeros.

Las estadísticas del transporte aéreo de la Junta de Aviación Civil reflejan que durante el período enero-junio 2022 los cinco principales destinos vía aérea desde y hacia donde República Dominicana tuvo mayor conexión son Nueva York, Miami, y Newark en Estados Unidos; Toronto (Canadá) y Tocumen (Panamá).

Asimismo, durante este primer semestre se movilizaron pasajeros desde y hacia conexiones no tradicionales tales como: Praga (República Checa), Bucarest (Rumania), Estambul (Turquía), Ufá (Rusia)y Tolmachevo (Novosibirsk, Rusia).

El doctor Marte Piantini comunicó además que el movimiento de la carga aérea los meses enero- mayo 2022 se transportaron 14.2 millones de kilogramos en importaciones y 39.8 millones de kilogramos en exportaciones.

En comparación con las cifras de carga del año pasado, tanto las exportaciones como las importaciones han mostrado un crecimiento significativo, destacándose las exportaciones, que aumentaron a un ritmo de 68%, y las importaciones crecieron 23%, en comparación con las cifras de carga de los primeros cinco meses del año 2021.

Luego de validar la conformidad de los requerimientos contemplados en la normativa que rige este tipo de requerimiento, el pleno de la JAC decidió autorizar las operaciones bajo la modalidad de Permiso Especial a la aerolínea de nacionalidad canadiense SUNWING AIRLINES para operar la ruta Montreal/ Puerto Plata / Quebec en el período comprendido desde el 19 de julio de 2022 al 18 de octubre de 2022.

Este operador realizará catorce vuelos ida y vuelta, con una frecuencia de un vuelo a la semana, los martes proyectando una oferta al mercado de 5,292 viajeros aproximadamente en aeronaves Boeing 737-800, con capacidad para 189 pasajeros.

Al momento de conocerse la solicitud de SUNWING José Ernesto Marte Piantini, presidente de la JAC enfatizó en la importancia que tiene para la República Dominica fomentar la recuperación del mercado canadiense, y de manera particular fomentar el transporte aéreo de pasajeros hacia la provincia de Puerto Plata.

Cabe destacar que la ruta Montreal / Puerto Plata / Quebec C, no se encuentra contenida dentro de ningún Permiso de Operación ni Certificado de Autorización Económica, no obstante, los operadores aéreos Air Canadá y Air Transat, disponen del tramo Montreal/Puerto Plata, Quebec/ Puerto Plata, respectivamente.

De acuerdo con datos obtenidos del Informe Estadístico del Transporte Aerocomercial en República Dominicana, correspondiente al mes de mayo de 2022 realizado por la Sección de Estadísticas de la JAC, SUNWING AIRLINES movilizó desde enero de 2021 hasta mayo de 2022, un total de 256,265 pasajeros en 1,793 operaciones en las rutas contenidas en su Permiso de Operación, así como en rutas operadas bajo otras modalidades. Mientras que en el período enero-mayo de 2022, transporto la cantidad de 171,508 pasajeros en operaciones entre la República Dominicana y Canadá.
