SANTO DOMINGO. – La Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este (Edeeste) dijo que  realiza ingentes esfuerzos para resolver, a la mayor brevedad posible, la avería registrada en el interruptor de protección del autotransformador de la subestación El Seibo, motivo por el que se ha visto interrumpido el servicio energético en sectores de esa localidad.

El gerente general de Edeeste, ingeniero Andrés Portes, informó que la eventualidad ocurrió alrededor de las 5:00 de la tarde de ayer y que, inmediatamente, se pusieron en acción para determinar la causa de la falla, a fin de darle oportuna solución.

“Es importante llevar tranquilidad a la población e indicarle que no tenemos una avería mayor a nivel de los transformadores de la subestación; se trata de un dispositivo de seguridad que, por su importancia dentro del equipo, necesita ser repuesto para asegurar la operabilidad del sistema”, detalló.

Portes agregó que actualmente la pieza se está construyendo en los talleres del Central Romana, para su mayor rapidez. “Lamentamos que durante la noche de anoche no pudiéramos hacer esto porque no teníamos ningún taller disponible”, prosiguió.

“Sin embargo, en este momento el Central Romana está prestando la ayuda necesaria y esperamos que a primeras horas de la noche de hoy ya todo esté debidamente normalizado”, añadió.

“Pedimos a la población que tenga calma. Estamos trabajando incisivamente sobre el problema y le vamos a dar una solución definitiva y segura para continuar con el servicio que hasta ahora teníamos en El Seibo y Miches”, puntualizó.
