El aspirante a diputado de la Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) por la circunscripción # 3 de Santo Domingo Este, Elmin Noboa (Noboa Fashion) se mostró preocupado por la construcción de un muro en la avenida Coronel Rafael Tomás Fernández Domínguez (autopista de San Isidro) en el tramo desde la avenida Charles de Gaulle hasta la avenida Hípica.

Noboa pidió al presidente de la República Dominicana, Luis Abinader ordenar al Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones (MOPC) paralizar de inmediato la construcción del muro que ya ha cobrado la vida de varias personas.

El político, quien habló durante una reunión que sostuvo con residentes y comerciantes de la zona, dijo que la obra es un verdadero peligro para los peatones de la zona.

«Nunca nos vamos a oponer al desarrollo de un país, pero no podemos seguir permitiendo que mueran más personas», aseguró.

Los residentes y comerciantes rechazaron la construcción del muro en medio de la vía que no permite el paso peatonal y pidieron al Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones que cumpla con el diseño original que fue acordado.

Dijeron que hay tramos de hasta 800 metros en los que no hay ningún acceso peatonal, por lo que se sienten encerrados.

El presidente de la Junta de Vecinos Residencial Paseo del Este, dijo que el propio ministro de Obras Públicas, Deligne Ascención, les prometió la construcción de un proyecto diferente al que está en ejecución.

Aclaró que no se oponen a la ampliación de la autopista, pero que no se tomó en cuenta que esa es una zona residencial y de negocios básicamente, en donde mucha gente tiene que cruzar la avenida a pie.

“Nos han informado que van a construir unos tres puentes peatonales, pero los puentes peatonales no solucionan el problema ya serán construidos  casi a un kilómetro de distancia”, dijeron los comunitarios.

Se preguntaron por qué no se hizo el mismo diseño de la misma autopista de San Isidro desde el Charles de Gaulle hasta casi la avenida San Vicente de Paúl que cuenta con una isleta central que, además de servir de seguridad y descanso para los peatones, permite la arborización.

Sonia Morillo, quien dijo que es arquitecta, llamó la obra el “muro de la vergüenza”, porque asegura que es un modelo obsoleto ya que toma más en cuenta a los vehículos que a las personas.

Aseguró que el muro es un obstáculo para niños, envejecientes y personas con discapacidad que tendrán que caminar largos espacios para poder acceder a sus viviendas o lugares de trabajo o a comprar en algún establecimiento.
