SANTO DOMINGO.- Ben temprano en la mañana de este miércoles, antes de iniciado el proceso electoral para escoger a las principales autoridades de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) se pudo observar a varías unidades de la Policía Nacional (PN) y la fuerza de apoyo Ciudad Tranquila (Ciutran), apostadas en las vías e intersecciones que conducen hacia la casa de estudiantes superiores.

La medida forma parte del sistema de seguridad que busca evitar la ocurrencia de incidentes que puedan empañar el proceso democrático universitario en el que se escogerán 108 cargos electivos, que incluyen al rector y cuatro vicerrectores

Asimismo, se elegirán nueve decanos y vicedecanos de igual cantidad de facultades, 51 directores de escuelas, 12 directivos de cuatro recintos, así como 22 cargos de otras 11 extensiones de la UASD.

Durante una entrevista con un equipo de Listín Diario del presidente de la Comisión Central Electoral (CCE), Enerio Rodríguez, informó que también se reforzó el personal de vigilancia de la universidad y se aumentó el número de cámaras en el campus para vigilar el proceso.

“Nosotros vamos a poder ver lo que está pasando en toda la universidad”, manifestó el maestro.

Acceso 

Otro de los protocolos que se incluyeron, como medida preventiva y de orden, fue la identificación de los votantes en las puertas de acceso.

Este equipo pudo constatar que a la llegada cada uno de las personas dispuestas a sufragar debe presentar su cédula de identidad que es constatada a través de un sistema computacional.

Asimismo, hay un significativo patrullaje identificados con chalecos verdes neón y las palabras: Seguridad UASD.

Por otro lado, a raíz de la concurrencia que suscita el proceso electoral en el campus universitario, se ha registrado congestionamiento del tráfico en las calles y avenidas cercanas. A esto se suma el cierre de algunos tramos de las vías paralelas a las edificaciones de la UASD.
