ANDRÈS BOCA CHICA.- La Plaza de Vendedores de Boca Chica se ve rodeada de basura y lodo, mostrando un nivel avanzado de deterioro y abandono, a pesar de haberse abierto a los visitantes hace apenas cuatro años.

Este deterioro es especialmente visible en el lado cercano al parqueo.

La situación es similar en la vecina Plaza Las Fritureras.

Originalmente construida por el Ministerio de Turismo para proporcionar a los vendedores un espacio cómodo y digno para atender a los visitantes nacionales y extranjeros, ahora el lugar ha caído en desorden.

Parte de sus infraestructuras iniciales, incluyendo su piso de madera, se encuentran rotas.

Paraguas sucios e improvisados a lo largo de la playa y objetos rotos y descartados en las esquinas contribuyen al desorden reinante en el área.

La situación empeora durante las noches, particularmente los lunes, cuando la música suena a un volumen excesivo, afectando la salud auditiva de los visitantes y de los vecinos, incluso de aquellos que residen más alejados del área.

La vecina Plaza Las Fritureras también se encuentra rodeada de suciedad y sus locales presentan un aspecto descuidado. El área ha sido ampliada de manera desordenada, con la colocación de casuchas improvisadas que compiten con los peatones por el espacio de las aceras.

Parece que la plaza  y sus alrededores han sido abandonados, sin recibir el debido mantenimiento por parte de la Alcaldía de Boca Chica, que no se encarga de recoger adecuadamente la basura, como se puede observar fácilmente.

Tampoco se ha mostrado el esperado cuidado por parte de los ocupantes, como los vendedores.

En múltiples ocasiones, vendedores, residentes y otros interesados han solicitado a las autoridades una mayor atención para esa zona de la playa de Boca Chica, que en el pasado fue considerada una de las mejores de la región debido a sus finas arenas y aguas claras. Sin embargo, estas peticiones parecen haber caído en el olvido.

Los agujeros en el piso no solo dañan la apariencia del lugar, sino que también representan un peligro para los visitantes. Félix Taveras, residente de Boca Chica, recuerda haberse lastimado una pierna al caer por una de esas aberturas.

Algunos vendedores intentan remediar la situación reemplazando las maderas podridas, pero el deterioro progresivo del piso no se detiene.

La Plaza de Vendedores de Boca Chica y su entorno necesitan urgentemente una mayor atención por parte del Ministerio de Turismo o la Alcaldía para devolverle su esplendor y garantizar un mayor orden en las actividades al aire libre en esa zona, haciendo que sea más atractiva para visitantes nacionales y extranjeros.

La Plaza de Vendedores, inaugurada a finales de 2019, abarca un área turística de más de 4,000 metros cuadrados, con varios locales comerciales para vendedores, un estacionamiento con capacidad para 35 vehículos y una zona de esparcimiento para los visitantes.
