SANTO DOMINGO.-Fernando Tatis salió en defensa de su hijo este lunes, al asegurar que la sustancia a la que salió positivo el pelotero dominicano fue producto de la aplicación de un spray tópico, por lo que afirmó que Grandes Ligas debió manejar la situación mejor.

Asimismo, al ser entrevistado en el “Show del Mediodía”, Tatis aseguró que la suspensión de 80 partidos “no era la forma de destruir la imagen de un jugador”, calificando el uso del supuesto medicamento en cuestión como “una tontería”.

“Fue un error que se podía manejar, yo creo que no era la forma para destruir la imagen de un jugador por una tontería, una sencillez como esta”, expresó el ex jugador de Grandes Ligas.

Durante la entrevista, Tatis padre negó en varias ocasiones que Tatis Jr. haya utilizado alguna sustancia que lo ayudara a jugar mejor dentro del terreno de juego, explicando que el toletero simplemente usó un spray para tratar un hongo, sin saber que contenía el esteroide.

“Lo que vincula a Junior es un esteroide que contiene un spray que se llama ‘Trofobol’ que es un spray tópico, para la piel y sirve para varias cosas. Al niño le sale un hongo en el cuello, producto de un corte, o un cerquillo como decimos nosotros, y se compra el spray y se lo pone”, explicó.

Igualmente indicó que el único error que cometió Fernando fue no leer los componentes del spray, describiendo lo que está atravesando la familia como “una situación muy difícil”.

“Es un momento muy difícil en realidad, ya que la imagen de Junior queda totalmente por el piso, como si él ha sido el malo de la película”, manifestó.

Grandes Ligas informó de la suspensión de Tatis Jr. el pasado viernes, aseverando que el dominicano salió positivo al esteroide Clostebol.

Tras el anuncio, el dominicano emitió un comunicado a través de la Asociación de Peloteros, diciendo que falló la prueba antidopaje porque tomó un medicamento sin saber que contenía el citado esteroide.

Esa es la versión de los hechos que Tatis padre apoya, quien agregó que esa sustancia prohibida no le brinda nada a quien la use para mejorar el desempeño.  

“Lo que salió positivo en el cuerpo de Junior es algo que no te da fuerza primero; no te aumenta tu rendimiento, es lo segundo; no tiene absolutamente nada de testosterona, no tiene absolutamente nada que te aporte a sobresalir en el juego”, subray

De manera similar, Fernando Tatis aseguró que muchos, incluso compañeros, le tienen envidia a su hijo por su vertiginoso ascenso en Grandes Ligas.

“En el mundo no le vas a caer bien a muchas personas, especialmente cuando las personas tienen éxito. Existe algo que se llama la envidia, la hipocresía de parte de muchos compañeros, la hipocresía y la misma envidia que despierta Junior en Grandes Ligas, de que a tan corta edad ha subido tan rápido, todo eso despierta muchos celos de parte de otros jugadores”, manifestó.
