La (DGA) incauta 49 armas de fuego entre ellas cortas y largas, 21 cargadores y miles de municiones

SANTO DOMINGO.-La Dirección General de Aduanas (DGA) decomisó 49 armas de fuego cortas y largas, 11,600 municiones y 21 cargadores, durante operaciones realizadas en los últimos días en las que fueron detenidas seis personas, en el marco de la lucha contra este tipo de armamento.

Según informó este lunes la institución en un comunicado, estas incautaciones fueron posibles gracias a las labores de inteligencia y a las inspecciones de Rayos X, “herramienta que está convirtiendo a la DGA en un muro de contención al contrabando”.

La nota detalla que en los operativos se decomisaron pistolas calibre 9mm, rifles de perdigones de 22mm, un fusil AR-15 de calibre 5.56, una escopeta con mira telescópica de 22mm y un revólver de 38mm.

También se incautaron municiones de distintos calibres y cargadores de pistolas y escopetas.

Las armas y municiones llegaron a República Dominicana desde Nueva York, camufladas en cajas y tanques enviadas a distintas personas en localidades de la región norte del país.

En estos operativos trabajaron conjuntamente la DGA, la División Especial de Investigación de Delitos Transnacionales (DEIDET) de la Policía Nacional y la Oficina de Investigaciones de Seguridad Nacional de Estados Unidos, en coordinación con el Ministerio Público y el apoyo de la Policía Preventiva.
