“Me Porto Bonito”, tema interpretado por los artistas urbanos puertorriqueños Bad Bunny y Chencho Corleone, ha sido escogida Canción del Año por la Sociedad Americana de Compositores, Autores y Editores (ASCAP, en inglés).

Así lo anunció este miércoles el ente musical en San Juan, donde celebró su edición anual, la primera que hace en la capital puertorriqueña en tres años.

“Me Porto Bonito”, que se incluye en el disco más reciente de Bad Bunny, “Un Verano Sin Ti”, fue co-escrita por el también puertorriqueño Master Joe, uno de los pioneros del reguetón y compositor de ASCAP.

La canción, a su vez, alcanzó el puesto número 1 en Latin Airplay, ocupó el puesto número 6 entre las mejores canciones de YouTube de 2022 y se ha reproducido cerca de 1.300 millones de veces en Spotify.

Las publicadoras El Kabecilla, RSM Publishing y Universal Music Publishing Group también recibieron el Premio ASCAP como editoras de “Me Porto Bonito».

Por otra parte, el artista colombiano Keityn obtuvo el premio al Compositor del Año, por sus obras “Provenza”, interpretada por la también colombiana Karol G, y “Te Felicito”, interpretada por Shakira y Rauw Alejandro.

Ambas canciones fueron éxitos multiplatino en los Estados Unidos y alcanzaron el Top 10 en la lista de “Billboard Hot Latin Songs». “La verdad, muy gratificante, muy orgulloso, contento y feliz.

Un logro más que espero tener en la trayectoria”, dijo Keityn Mauricio Cruz Moreno, nombre de pila del escritor, a EFE en la alfombra roja del evento tras recibir su galardón.

Keityn admitió que desconoce en qué se inspiró para componer ambas canciones premiadas, aunque aceptó que solo las hizo “porque me divertía”, y dijo estar orgulloso por Shakira y Karol G, a quienes describió como “dos reinas de mi país».

Keityn contó además que “Te felicito” la compuso en un campamento musical, mientras que “Provenza” la escribió en el estudio de grabación del productor colombiano Ovy On The Drums.

En principio, pensó que “Provenza” no le gustó mucho, por lo que Karol G cambió un poco la letra y se arriesgaron para que el tema se convirtiera en su próximo sencillo.

“El que no arriesga, no gana, y gané”, resaltó. Mientras, Universal Music Publishing Music Group recibió el premio a la Editora del Año por sus éxitos “Después de la playa”, “Efecto”, “La Corriente”, “Me Porto Bonito”, “Moscow Mule”, “Neverita”, “Ojitos Lindos”, “Tarot”, “Tití Me Preguntó” y “Un Ratito». Todos estos temas forman parte del disco de Bad Bunny, “Un Verano Sin Ti».

Otros compositores ganadores del Premio ASCAP 2023 incluyen a Daddy Yankee por “Remix”, “Jhayco” por “Sensual Bebé”, Marc Anthony por “Mala”, Marco Antonio Solís por “Si Te Pudiera Mentir”, Gale por “Ley Seca” y Lin-Manuel Miranda por “Dos Oruguitas”, que se incluye en la película “Encanto” e interpretada por Sebastián Yatra.

El Premio ASCAP honra a los compositores y editoras de las canciones más populares del 2022 de la música latina. ASCAP es una organización de membresías con más de 900.000 autores, compositores, editores y representa a creadores de música reconocidos mundialmente.

En el 2022, ASCAP reportó un alto récord financiero con resultados de 1.522 millones de dólares en ingresos y 1.388 millones de dólares en distribuciones de regalía para pagos a sus miembros.
