SANTO DOMINGO.-Cientos de médicos pensionados y jubilados protestaron hoy frente a las instalaciones de la Dirección General de Jubilaciones y Pensiones (DGJP), donde exigieron de la institución gubernamental dé cumplimiento a las leyes 414-98  y 87-01 en lo referente a la obtención de un seguro médico que les garantice mejor cobertura médica.

Los galenos explicaron que el seguro de Salud de SENASA es de mala calidad, es decir, no cubre absolutamente nada para los médicos pensionados.

“Ningún profesional de la medicina lo toma; el SENASA no cubre enfermedades catastróficas, pasando vicisitudes y vergüenza frente a los colegas que nos atienden”, expresó la presidenta de la entidad, doctora Dalma De la Rosa, quien se hizo acompañar del presidente del Colegio Médico Dominicano, doctor Senén Caba, Francisca Moronta, secretaria general del gremio, así como de la expresidenta del CMD, doctora Amarilis Herrera.

De la Rosa dijo estar a la espera del cumplimiento de la ley; «el gobierno está obligado a cumplir con la protección del seguro médico debido a que es un derecho adquirido».

Asimismo, exigieron actualizar las pensiones de manera periódica de acuerdo al registro en el costo de la vida, así como por el índice de precio al consumidor.

Explicaron que cientos de médicos pensionados pendientes están recibiendo menos de RD $50,000.00, es decir, que debe ser aumentada cuando antes, a los fines de cumplir con el acuerdo firmado entre el Gobierno y el Colegio Médico Dominicano  el 21 de diciembre de 2020.

En tanto que el presidente del CMD, doctor Senén Caba, dijo que con la protesta se busca incluir a los médicos pensionados y jubilados en un seguro contributivo como estaban antes.

“Aquí se atropella al pensionado cada día; demandamos trato justo y garantía de derechos. Respecto a la Ley 414-98, así como a los derechos que dicha ley otorga a ese grupo de personas que hoy no pueden integrarse a las labores productivas”, refirió.
