El Ministerio de Trabajo recibió a representantes de movimientos de trabajadoras domésticas de las comunidades de Pizarrete, Palenque y Yaguate, de la provincia de San Cristóbal. El objetivo de esta visita fue solicitar por escrito la información actualizada del estatus de la resolución propuesta por el Ministerio de Trabajo que procura el cumplimiento del Convenio 189 de la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), y que regulará el contrato de trabajo de las domésticas.
A través de un documento pidieron, además, se establezcan salas de tareas en todo el país en donde las trabajadoras domésticas puedan dejar sus hijos después de la escuela, hasta que terminen sus horarios de trabajo.
Dicha comitiva fue recibida por la viceministra de Trabajo para Relaciones Sindicales y Empresariales, Sabrina de la Cruz Vargas, por instrucciones del Ministro de Trabajo, Luis Miguel De Camps García, quien se encontraba en compromisos previos fuera de la institución.
La viceministra les explicó que se está trabajando en la redacción de la mencionada resolución, tomando en cuenta todos los aspectos convenidos para la preservación de sus derechos laborales.
“Estamos trabajando en todos los puntos que van desde los salarios, horario, descansos y condiciones de trabajo de las domésticas, tomando en cuenta las observaciones recibidas durante el proceso de consulta pública”, agregó.
De la Cruz Vargas, reiteró que la aplicación de la resolución sobre las trabajadoras domésticas traerá amplios beneficios para ese sector, uno históricamente olvidado, que busca dignificar y mejorar su calidad de vida.
Sostuvo que el Ministro de Trabajo está personalmente comprometido y es su prioridad garantizar los derechos fundamentales consagrados en la Constitución y en consonancia con el Convenio 189 de la OIT, para formalizar el trabajo doméstico.
Por el Movimiento Mujeres Trabajadoras participó Luz Eneida Mejía; por la Asociación de Trabajadoras de Pizarrete, Lillíam Pérez Arias; por la Asociación de Trabajadoras de Yaguate, Moraima Sierra Sierra y por la Asociación de Trabajadoras de Palenque, Natividad Valdez.

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found
