El ministro de Deportes y Recreación Francisco Camacho supervisó los trabajos de remodelación de la Villa Olímpica.

Camacho llegó al lugar y de inmediato conversó con el ingeniero Joel Santos, quien tiene a su cargo los trabajos de remodelación de los tres edificios de la Villa Olímpica, que sirven de albergue para decenas de atletas de alta competición.

El funcionario recordó que, al llegar al cargo en agosto de 2020, el presidente Luis Abinader afirmó que encabezaría un Gobierno que apoyaría el deporte.

“Estamos aquí para verificar el avance de los trabajos y, por lo que hemos visto y constatado, están bien avanzados y el ingeniero contratista nos ha dicho que nos hará entrega a finales del próximo mes de febrero”, dijo Camacho.

Manifestó que ha visto una labor de alta calidad, tal y como se merecen todos los atletas de alto rendimiento que representan a la República Dominicana en eventos internacionales.

El costo de la inversión se acerca a los seis millones de pesos, destacó el ministro.

30 apartamentos

Desde principios de año, Camacho comenzó una intensa gira de supervisión de los trabajos de construcción y remodelación de instalaciones deportivas en todo el territorio nacional.

Afirmó que ya se licitó la construcción de los otros dos edificios de la Villa Olímpica para cubrir la totalidad de los 30 apartamentos, con capacidad para que unos 230 atletas residan de manera digna y decente, tal y como se lo merecen.

En qué consiste la remodelación

El ingeniero Santos dijo que, cuando se comenzaron los trabajos de remodelación, los edificios estaban en deplorables condiciones y así lo muestran las fotos tomadas en aquel momento.

Expresó que se trabajó en el cambio de cerámicas, instalación de puertas, toda la parte eléctrica, ventanas, baños nuevos, que incluyó el cambio de toda la plomería de agua fría y caliente.

También, la impermeabilización de los techos, pulido y brillado de pisos y la aplicación de pintura.

Indicó que ya hay dos edificios listos para entregar y un tercero está muy avanzado.
