SANTO DOMINGO.- El ministro de Educación, Ángel Hernández, indicó que los profesores que enseñan inglés en los centros educativos públicos “no saben inglés”, revelando así que están capacitando 2.400 profesores en competencias de esa lengua.

«Ahora mismo estamos capacitando 2,400 profesores que enseñan lenguas, formándolos en competencias en lenguas, no en licenciatura, en lenguas, en el Dominico Americano y en la Universidad APEC, para garantizar que enseñen inglés, porque ahora mismo los profesores que enseñan inglés, no saben inglés” afirmó Hernández.

En una entrevista ofrecida a la periodista Julissa Céspedes, el ministro sostuvo que los maestros se forman en educación básica y aprenden un poco de cada cosa, pero no son especialistas.

«Los profesores se forman de forma general, si tú estás en quinto de primaria, tienes un curso en el que te dan inglés, pero tú no sabes inglés. Estuviste formado en educación básica y aprendes un poco de cada cosa, pero no eres especialista en la lengua» explicó el funcionario de Educación.

Asimismo, agregó que es la primera vez que el sistema educativo va a tener todos los libros de inglés disponibles a todos los niveles, gratuitos.
