SANTO DOMINGO.- El ministro de Educación, Ángel Hernández, aseguró este viernes que en la actualidad, los docentes disfrutan el salario más alto de la administración pública.
«Hoy los docentes disfrutan del salario más alto de la administración pública. Están en el quintil más alto. Es un reconocimiento a su trabajo, al esfuerzo que realizan para construir una sociedad más equitativa», afirmó el funcionario, durante su discurso en el acto de la entrega del Premio a la Excelencia Magisterial 2023, encabezado por el presidente Luis Abinader.
Asimismo, Hernández informó que en el próximo año escolar, se le entregará un bono especial a aquellos maestros que logren alfabetizar a tiempo a sus alumnos, desde primer hasta tercer grado de primaria.
«Es bueno indicarles que durante el año 2023-2024 se dispondrá de un bono especial para todo docente que logre alfabetizar a sus alumnos en tiempo oportuno. Los niños serán evaluados para precisar quiénes lograron las competencias previstas. En base a ello, los docentes serán beneficiados. Esperamos que ese bono lo alcancen todos los docentes de primero, segundo y tercer grado de primaria», dijo.
En ese sentido, expresó que el principal desafío que tiene el país, si se quiere mejorar la educación, es que los niños aprendan a leer y a escribir bien antes de los 8 años.
«Esperamos que esta política favorezca que todos los docentes concentren su atención en el aprendizaje de los niños y les garanticen un futuro mejor en una sociedad más educada, más culta con más democracia e institucionalidad», expresó.
El ministro aseguró que este Gobierno se ha empeñado en formar a los docentes para que logren mejores resultados en el aula.
«Así, 24 mil docentes hicieron por primera vez un curso de inducción de un año, acompañados por buenos tutores con la orientación de 19 universidades. Además, 1,500 directores han sido formados en liderazgo pedagógico para que orienten su trabajo a las necesidades propias del aprendizaje de los niños en el aula», enfatizó.
Además, agregó que en septiembre, 2,500 más iniciarán este programa.
Medicamentos de alto costo
Hernández, señaló que el presidente Abinader dispuso aumentar los recursos para atender a los docentes que requieren medicamentos de alto costo y está en proceso de construir sendos hospitales en el Sur y en el Este para ampliar las atenciones médicas a los docentes.
Aseguró que «lo más importante es que el presidente está siempre dispuesto para discutir los temas educativos y sin duda alguna lo referido a los docentes, a sus necesidades, son parte de sus preocupaciones».
Se recuerda, que el mandatario ya sostuvo un primer encuentro con la Asociación Dominicana de Profesores (ADP), para analizar las demandas que exigen.
El segundo encuentro está pautado para llevarse a cabo el próximo lunes a las 3:00 de la tarde, con el fin de continuar las negociaciones que buscan un acuerdo sobre la indexación en los salarios de los pensionados y jubilados y otros puntos relacionados a la parte pedagógica.
