SANTO DOMINGO.- El accidente registrado el pasado sábado entre dos trenes del metro de Santo Domingo que dejó al menos cinco persona heridas, se debió a una «concatenación de errores» cometidas por uno de los conductores, según informó este lunes la Oficina Para el Reordenamiento del Transporte (Opret).

Mediante un comunicado hecho público pasado el mediodía de hoy, la institución estatal expresó que «la investigación hasta el momento denota varias violaciones por parte del conductor a los protocolos de operaciones establecidos, lo que produjo en un corto tiempo la movilidad del tren en la vía contraria».

Añade que las conclusiones preliminares indican que el accidente habría tenido lugar por «la alineación de un conjunto de elementos que hicieron posible lo que técnicamente se denomina una trayectoria de oportunidad para el accidente».

La Opret señaló que, con el acompañamiento de organismos de seguridad del Estado dominicano, se realizan investigaciones profundas para definir la causa que lo habrían llevado a cometer «esta concatenación de errores».

El comunicado añade que el accidente tuvo lugar en una curva, lo que impidió una correcta visibilidad entre ambos trenes y redujo la capacidad de reacción del operador que conducía el tren que transitaba en dirección correcta hacia la estación Mamá Tingó.

«El adecuado comportamiento de este segundo conductor al activar los frenos de emergencia del citado tren disminuyó drásticamente la severidad del choque entre ambas unidades», expresó.
