El Centro de Exportación e Inversión de la República Dominicana (ProDominicana) organizó la participación de la oferta exportable de empresas dominicanas para el Trade Show 2023 de la Asociación Nacional de Supermercados de Estados Unidos (NSA).
El evento, realizado del 21 al 23 de agosto en Nueva York, se vislumbra como la oportunidad para que los exportadores dominicanos establezcan relaciones comerciales en el sector de supermercados independientes de dicho país.
En ese sentido, la directora ejecutiva de ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro Disla, indicó que las empresas participantes aprovecharán las oportunidades de negocios que surjan de esta feria, que contará con la participación de más de 75 empresas grandes de distribución, como Walmart, y los más de mil compradores de todos los supermercados de Estados Unidos, que son parte del NSA.
Además, indicó que durante la feria los participantes tendrán un espacio para charlas y conferencias con el propósito de que adquieran nuevos conocimientos sobre este sector. Riveiro reiteró que la idea es promover los productos dominicanos dentro de los supermercados con alta presencia de latinos en Estados Unidos, en lugares como Nueva York, New Jersey, Pensilvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston y Florida.
“Tenemos una agenda de reuniones dentro de la feria de supermercados. Con estos recorridos aprovecharemos para entender cómo hacer negocios con estos supermercados y qué están demandando en términos de productos. También ofreceremos una degustación de los productos dominicanos a compradores, con el fin de facilitar la entrada de estos productos a los supermercados estadounidenses”, detalló Riveiro.
Cabe destacar que, en el período enero-julio 2023, República Dominicana ha exportado un total de USD 3,782.7 millones hacia Estados Unidos, equivalente a un crecimiento interanual de 1.3 %, en comparación con el mismo período del 2022, y un aumento en 29 % en relación con este período del año prepandemia 2019.
Es importante resaltar, que este valor se posiciona como un récord histórico en las ventas de productos dominicanos hacia este mercado durante los primeros siete meses del año.
De igual manera, los principales productos exportados durante este período son: cigarros puros USD 517.6 millones, disyuntores eléctricos USD 440.7 millones, instrumentos y aparatos de medicina USD 396.4 millones y los t-shirts y camisetas USD 208.2 millones, entre otros.
El local de la República Dominicana contó con la participación de las empresas: Jomisardys SRL, Laboratorio Capilo Español, Laboratorio Rangel, La Realeza Dominican Tobacco, Crazy About Organics SRL, Industrias Banilejas (INDUBAN), Grupo Bocel y United Brands Beers & Co. Entre los productos a exhibir por las compañías se encuentran: dulces de leche, jalao, caramelos, productos capilares, suplementos naturales para la salud, cigarros, organic baby food and dried fruit snacks, ron Siboney, cerveza 809.
Es importante destacar que la Asociación Nacional de Supermercados de Estados Unidos mantiene una membresía actual de aproximadamente 600 supermercados. El evento atrae a empresas que buscan exhibir y vender sus productos y servicios a compradores del sector de supermercados independientes de diferentes partes del mundo.
