Las remesas enviadas este año a República Dominicana superarán los 10.000 millones de dólares, según informó este miércoles el gobernador del Banco Central, Héctor Valdez Albizu, en rueda de prensa.

Las remesas continúan con "un importante dinamismo", con un crecimiento interanual a noviembre de 11,2 %, de acuerdo con el funcionario.

Según datos del Banco Central, las remesas recibidas por el país entre enero y noviembre de este año totalizan 9.461 millones de dólares, un 28,8 % más que en el mismo periodo de 2020 y un 47,1 % superior a los mismos meses de 2019, año previo a la pandemia de covid-19.

En noviembre, agregan los datos, las remesas ascendieron a 786,6 millones de dólares, superando en 79,1 millones de dólares las registradas en noviembre de 2020.

El 83,9 % de los flujos de noviembre llegó desde Estados Unidos, donde reside la mayor parte de la diáspora dominicana, y el 7 % desde España, país que alberga la mayor parte de los dominicanos en Europa.

Otros mercados importantes fueron Haití (1,3 %) e Italia (0,9 %), de acuerdo con el informe del banco emisor.

El resto de la recepción de remesas se divide entre países como Suiza, Canadá y Panamá.
