El rapero y compositor puertorriqueño René Pérez Joglar, conocido como Residente, lanzó este miércoles su nuevo tema “Quiero ser baladista”, que llega acompañado de un video musical estilo cortometraje en el que aparece Ricky Martin.

El cortometraje, en blanco y negro y de 10 minutos de duración aproximadamente, es una obra dirigida por el propio Residente y codirigida por Alejandro Pedrosa.

En el video, Residente lidera la historia secuestrando a Afo Verde, presidente y CEO de Sony Music Latin-Iberia, y luego se transforma en un personaje de balada audicionando frente a Verde en busca de su aprobación. Tras ser rechazado, Residente muestra frustración y le dispara a Verde en una escena dramática por no apoyar su sueño de convertirse en cantante de baladas.

Así, el video continúa con Residente desnudándose y volviendo a su personaje de rapero usando su característico sombrero con la letra “R».

La trama continúa cuando un individuo enmascarado y vestido de negro dispara a Residente. Cuando el misterioso personaje se revela a sí mismo, no es otro que Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin se coloca el sombrero de la marca “R” para convertirse en Residente, rapeando por primera vez al ritmo rápido y con las letras escritas por Residente. El final del video muestra a Ricky Martin dejando caer el sombrero convirtiéndose de nuevo en él mismo para cantar, como una verdadera balada, el coro interpretado anteriormente por Residente.

El sombrero es un protagonista principal a lo largo de la historia de la trilogía de estos videos dirigidos por Residente.

La compañía de producción 1868 Studios de Residente en sociedad con Sony Entertainment, produjo el video en colaboración con World Junkies.

El rapero puertorriqueño publicó también el pasado 12 de julio un original video junto al actor español Javier Cámara para anunciar una de sus famosas y duras “tiraeras” (ataque verbal a través de las letras de las canciones).
