Salud Pùblica dice realizan pruebas de PCR para detectar dengue a menor tiempo

SANTO DOMINGO. – El Ministerio de Salud Pública (MSP) informó este miércoles que a través del Laboratorio Nacional Doctor Defilló se están haciendo pruebas especializadas de PCR para detectar el dengue en el menor tiempo posible y así tener un diagnóstico rápido de la enfermedad y los datos estén acorde a las normas que se exigen ante enfermedades de notificación obligatoria.

El doctor Daniel Rivera, ministro de Salud, indicó que con la prueba de PCR se tiene un diagnóstico más rápido y seguro, de todos los menores ingresados en los diferentes hospitales pediátricos, llamó a los padres y tutores acudir a los centros de salud para recibir asistencia si presentan síntomas febriles y detectar a tiempo cualquier virus.

“Nosotros no tenemos por qué ocultar cifras de los ingresos y defunción ocurridas, todos los fallecidos por probable dengue son sometidos a evaluación, esto conlleva un exhaustivo proceso y luego se determina la causa real, las estadísticas ofrecidas son correctas”, indicó el titular de Salud.

En la acostumbrada rueda de prensa, encabezada por el ministro doctor Daniel Rivera, Mario Lama director del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS) dijo que, en las últimas 72 horas los internamientos han bajado ligeramente. En los diferentes hospitales hay unos 315 pacientes ingresados con síntomas relacionados con la enfermedad y unas 350 camas disponibles en la Red Metropolitana de Salud lo que suman en total 600 en todo el territorio nacional.

Indicó que la mayoría de los casos de dengue están en su mayoría en los hospitales Robert Reid Cabral y Hugo Mendoza. “Los centros asistenciales pediátricos reciben un promedio de 98 pacientes en los últimos tres días, enfatizando que la semana pasada eran de 115.

“A partir de este jueves en la Unidad Infantil del Marcelino Vélez, habilitaremos una unidad de intensivos que aportará unas siete camas nuevas al sistema, hasta que las medidas de fortalecimiento contra la enfermedad comienzan a dar la respuesta esperada y se sumarán unas 30 camas en el recién entregado hospital general Mario Tolentino.
