EL PORTAVOZ, SANTO DOMIMGO.-Un supuesto tranque ha generado la fusión del Plan Social de la presidencia y Los Comedores Económicos, debido a que la actual directora de una de las entidades fusionadas es apoyada por el expresidente Hipólito Mejía, para que siga en el cargo, mientras que el actual director de los Comedores Económicos, Edgar Feliz Méndez es del litoral del presidente Luis Abinader.
La decisión del presidente Luis Abinader de fusionar las dos entidades tanto el Plan Social de la presidencia con los Comedores Económicos forma parte de las medidas del gobierno para racionalizar el gasto público, mejorar la eficiencia en la gestión de los recursos sociales y centralizar las políticas asistenciales.
El Plan Social y los Comedores Económicos tienen como objetivo reducir la duplicidad de funciones entre ambas entidades, sin embargo, tradicionalmente, ambas instituciones han desempeñado roles similares en la provisión de asistencia a las poblaciones más vulnerables, ya sea mediante la distribución de alimentos o la entrega de ayudas directas, por parte del gobierno a través de esas entidades de índoles sociales
A pesar de la claridad de los propósitos de la fusión, la controversia ha surgido en torno a quién será el encargado de liderar la nueva entidad fusionada. Hasta ahora, tanto el director del Plan Social de la Presidencia como el director de los Comedores Económicos han mantenido roles clave en sus respectivas áreas. Sin embargo, tras la unificación, solo habrá un puesto de liderazgo, lo que ha generado tensiones y luchas de poder entre los equipos de ambos funcionarios.
Los informes indican que el ex presidente Hipólito Mejía estaría apoyando que la señora Yadira Henríquez continúe al frente de la institución lo que ha generado un supuesto tranque sobre la posición ya que el presidente Luis Abinader estaría en la posición de mantener en la dirección a Edgar Feliz Méndez
Mientras algunos sectores abogan por la continuidad de la dirección del Plan Social, argumentando que esta entidad maneja un volumen significativo de asistencia directa y está más cercana a las comunidades otros, sin embargo, entienden que la experiencia en logística y distribución masiva de alimentos por parte de los Comedores Económicos será crucial para la nueva entidad fusionada.
El escenario político se ha visto influenciado por rumores sobre quién asumirá el liderazgo de la entidad fusionada. Algunos nombres cercanos al presidente Abinader han sido mencionados como posibles candidatos, lo que ha agudizado aún más la pugna interna entre los seguidores de Yadira Henríquez como de Edgar Feliz.
Además, existen presiones dentro del propio partido oficialista, el PRM (Partido Revolucionario Moderno), donde varios actores políticos ven en este puesto una oportunidad clave para consolidar su presencia dentro del gobierno y aspiraciones política.
