Un grupo de ucranianos que se encuentra de vacaciones en el enclave turístico de Las Terrenas, Samaná, en el noreste de República Dominicana, exigió este jueves al presidente ruso, Vladímir Putin, detener el ataque contra su país.

Los ucranianos gritaban "Viva Ucrania" y condenas al presidente ruso, Vladímir Putin, además de que portaban banderas de su país y carteles en contra de la guerra que inició Moscú hoy.

Las dos decenas de personas caminaron por varias calles de Las Terrenas detrás de un automóvil que ondeaba una bandera ucraniana, se observó en imágenes de medios digitales dominicanos y en las redes sociales.

De acuerdo a cifras del Banco Central dominicano, 183.700 turistas rusos visitaron el país en 2021, mientras que desde que Ucrania arribaron 85.912 turistas en ese mismo período.

El presidente de Ucrania, Volodímir Zelenski, informó este jueves de la muerte de 137 ucranianos durante el primer día del ataque ruso contra el país.

En una nueva alocución a la nación, el mandatario anunció además que 316 ciudadanos resultaron heridos.

El Ejército ruso ocupó este jueves Chernóbil después de fuertes combates contra las Fuerzas Armadas ucranianas.

"Tras un cruento combate, perdimos el control de Chernóbil", afirmó el asesor de la Presidencia ucraniana, Mijaíl Podoliak, citado por la agencia UNIAN.

República Dominicana culpó ayer a Rusia de "vulnerar tres principios básicos" del derecho internacional con su decisión, el lunes pasado, de reconocer como repúblicas independientes a las regiones de Donetsk y Luhansk, a las que definió de "parte integral del territorio de Ucrania".

"República Dominicana no acepta que el derecho internacional sea quebrantando ni que el orden internacional basado en reglas libremente aceptadas se rompa. En un escenario de violencia y actos de fuerza no habría vencedor. Todos perderíamos, no importa si somos Estados grandes o pequeños", expuso ante la Asamblea General de la ONU el representante dominicano, José Blanco.

La posición del país caribeño fue dada a conocer horas antes del ataque de Rusia, que ha sido repudiado por las potencias occidentales encabezadas por Estados Unidos, las que han impuesto sanciones económicas al Kremlin.
