El viceministro de Ordenamiento Territorial y Desarrollo Regional del Ministerio de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo, Domingo Matías, resaltó que, a diez meses de haber sido promulgada la Ley 368-22, de Ordenamiento Territorial, Uso de Suelo y Asentamientos Humanos, el Gobierno central tiene casi listo su reglamento de aplicación y trabaja en la formulación de los instrumentos de planificación que contempla dicha norma.

Matías precisó que el Ministerio de Economía acompaña el proceso de formulación de 14 Planes Municipales de Ordenamiento Territorial (PMOT) y adelantó que este año se entregarán los de Pepillo Salcedo y San Francisco de Macorís.

Resaltó, además, los avances en el diseño del PMOT de Pedernales, en colaboración con el Ministerio de Turismo y del Instrumento de Delimitación de Suelo Urbano (IDSU) de Barahona.

Sobre el Plan Nacional de Ordenamiento Territorial (PNOT), el viceministro indicó que ya se han realizado los diagnósticos productivos, sociodemográficos y de asentamientos humanos, al igual que se ha avanzado en los diagnósticos ambientales.

Además dijo que en los próximos meses se trabajará en la prospectiva de este instrumento, que deberá convertirse en ley posteriormente.  Matías señaló que el próximo año se iniciarán los trabajos de los Planes Regionales de Ordenamiento y Desarrollo Territorial (PRODT), para lo cual se tiene contemplado comenzar en las regiones de Yuma e Higuamo.
