EL PORTAVOZ, SANTO DOMINGO.- Los jueces de la Segunda Sala de la Suprema Corte de Justicia (SCJ) dictaron prisión de medida de coerción al ruso pedido en extradición por España, acusado de liderar una red internacional que estafó con más de 645 millones de euros a personas mediante el negocio “Juicy Fields”, de inversión en cultivos de plantas de cannabis para uso medicinal.
El extranjero Sergei Berezin y/o Paul Bergholts, a quien se le conocerá una solicitud de extradición hecha por el Reino de España, y que fijaron su conocimiento para el próximo 12 de junio, a las 11:00 de la mañana. Durante el allanamiento y arresto del ruso, las autoridades ocuparon cuatro pasaportes, entre ellos uno dominicano, cada uno con nombres distintos y una cédula de este país.
Las autoridades españolas acusan al ruso por los delitos de pertenencia a una organización criminal, estafa agravada y blanqueo de capitales, las cuales conllevarían una condena de 27 años de cárcel.
Con el negocio “Juicy Fields”, habría estafado a unas 156 mil personas de varios países de Europa. En este negocio utilizó una plataforma que operó desde el 22 de marzo del 2020, hasta el 13 de junio del 2022, que luego colapsó.
Las autoridades de España señalan a Sergei Berezin de ser responsable de otra estafa similar al cometido a través Juicy Fields, que defraudó 39 millones de euros a otro grupo de personas.
