Con el propósito de continuar mejorando la calidad de vida de la población, el Gobierno dominicano destinó RD 92,716.5 millones en gasto de capital entre enero y septiembre de este año, lo que representa un aumento de 28.3 % en relación con igual período de 2022.

El monto, que representa el 1.4 % del producto interno bruto (PIB) y un incremento de RD 20,477.9 millones, estuvo dirigido hacia obras públicas que impactarán el transporte de pasajeros, viviendas, salud, educación, seguridad y otras áreas, establece el informe de “Seguimiento a los resultados presupuestarios del Gobierno central enero-septiembre 2023”, elaborado por el Ministerio de Hacienda.

La construcción de la Línea 2C del Metro de Santo Domingo, en el tramo Alcarrizos-Luperón, que permitirá la descongestión vehicular en esa zona de la ciudad y el transporte de ciudadanos de forma más eficiente, segura y rápida, es la obra que mayor monto devengado registró en los primeros tres trimestres del año, con RD 6,708.9 millones.

Mientras que la construcción de la segunda línea del Teleférico de Santo Domingo, que ya fue inaugurada por el presidente Luis Abinader y que conectará a Los Alcarrizos con la Línea 2C del Metro, cuando esta última entre en funcionamiento, devengó RD 1,982.5 millones.

De igual forma, las transferencias de capital aumentaron en RD 10,873.3 millones respecto al tercer trimestre del 2022, alza explicada por los RD 8,000 millones destinados al Fideicomiso para el Desarrollo del Sistema de Transporte Masivo de la República Dominicana (Fitram), que ejecuta la construcción del monorriel y teleférico de Santiago.

En materia educativa y de salud pública, para la construcción y ampliación de planteles escolares, a nivel nacional se destinaron RD 4,061.1 millones en los primeros nueve meses del 2023 y para la edificación y reparación de hospitales RD 3,179.8 millones.

La construcción y mejoramiento de viviendas en todo el territorio es otra de las acciones que impulsó el Gobierno en el citado período. Para el levantamiento de 2,000 unidades habitacionales en el distrito municipal Hato del Yaque, en Santiago, se devengaron RD 1,423.9 millones y otros RD 1,158.9 millones para la construcción de 2,384 residencias en el distrito municipal de San Luis, en Santo Domingo.

Asimismo, para el mejoramiento de 100,000 viviendas en todo el país se destinaron RD 1,176.5 millones entre enero y septiembre de 2023, indica el informe.

En términos de defensa y seguridad del territorio, para la construcción de la Verja Perimetral Inteligente, que se levanta en la frontera entre República Dominicana y Haití, el Gobierno destinó RD 1,110.2 millones durante los primeros tres trimestres de este año.

En tanto, para la rehabilitación de la carretera Rancho Arriba-Sabana Larga, en San José de Ocoa, se devengaron RD 913.8 millones en el citado período, para esta obra vial reclamada por años por comunitarios y productores agropecuarios de la zona. En tanto, para la reconstrucción de la infraestructura vial urbana del municipio Santo Domingo Este se destinaron RD 876.2 millones.
