Gobierno pasa revista a los avances para la entrega de parcelas a productores asentados en centro poblado Monte Grande

El director ejecutivo del Instituto Nacional de Recursos Hidráulicos (INDRHI), Olmedo Caba Romano, propició una reunión entre entidades gubernamentales y representantes de los comunitarios de Monte Grande, donde pasaron revista al proceso de entrega de las tierras que les servirán de sustento, tal como lo dispuso el presidente Luis Abinader Corona al ponerles en posesión de sus viviendas el pasado mes de febrero.

Por el gobierno, participaron en el encuentro, además de Caba Romano, la gobernadora de la provincia Barahona, Genara González Marmolejos; el viceministro de Suelos y Aguas del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales, René Mateo, y el subdirector ejecutivo del Instituto Agrario Dominicano (IAD), Leo Colón. Por los comunitarios estuvieron Santos Esteban Ferrera, de Los Güiros, y Mercedes Vargas Dotel, de Monte Grande.

El viceministro de Medio Ambiente explicó que ese ministerio ya emitió los permisos requeridos en la zona para la perforación de los pozos que alimentarán el sistema de riego y que durante la semana en curso, con la comisión técnica que trabaja la regulación de las áreas, agotarán encuentros para que la entrega de las tierras se realice lo antes posible.

En tanto, el subdirector del IAD refirió que las áreas ya se encuentran relacionadas y el listado de los beneficiarios no requiere cambios, por lo que sólo esperan que el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales autorice la zona para proceder a la entrega de los títulos a los parceleros correspondientes. “Vinimos aquí a resolver; estamos trabajando y la voluntad que tiene el gobierno y las instituciones del Gabinete Agropecuario es entregarles los predios”, concluyó el funcionario.

Al intervenir la gobernadora, expresó a los comunitarios que desde el Poder Ejecutivo se busca dar pronta respuesta respetando el marco de la ley, evitando prácticas de gobiernos predecesores que ejecutaban a vapor sin medir consecuencias medioambientales de sus actos. “Hoy tenemos asentamientos sin títulos por esas malas prácticas; estamos organizando todo  para que cuando ustedes queden asentados las tierras sean suyas”, enfatizó la representante del presidente en la demarcación.

Finalmente, Caba Romano, recalcó que las parcelas a entregar contarán con el riego presurizado para el eficaz uso del agua dentro de la producción agrícola, lo que significa un considerable avance para los productores. También, agradeció a los presentes e indicó que desde el INDRHI se mantendrá propiciando dichos encuentros para la comunidad continúe midiendo los avances del proceso con información de primera mano. Enntal sentido, todos acordaron efectuar una reunión de seguimiento el jueves de la próxima semana.

Del INDRHI asistieron, además, Juan Carlos Nova y Manuel Pineda, directores de Operaciones y Sistemas de Riego y de la regional Yaque del Sur, respectivamente.
