SANTO DOMINGO.-El ministro de Interior y Policía, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, advirtió que no hay espacio para el retroceso ni marcha atrás en el combate a la delincuencia y el crimen organizado, ya que la mayoría de los casos que se han registrado en los últimos días se han producido en los sectores que aún no han sido intervenidos dentro de la Estrategia Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana “Mi País Seguro”.

Señaló que, en el caso de Santiago en los sectores intervenidos como Baracoa, el Centro Histórico y Los Pepines, los delitos se han reducido de manera considerable, al igual que Cienfuegos, ensanche Bermúdez, La Joya, La Otra Banda, Los Jardines, Nibaje y Pueblo Nuevo.

Lo propio ha ocurrido en los barrios intervenidos de San Francisco de Macorís, Vista al Valle, Santa Ana, Rabo de Chivo y San Martín, también en La Romana, Barahona, Oviedo y en el mismo Distrito Nacional, entre los que se encuentran Cristo Rey, La Zurza, ensanche La Fe y La Puya de Arroyo Hondo.

 

Anunció que se trabaja en el levantamiento de rigor para en los próximos días intervenir Boca Chica, Puerto Plata, Moca e Higüey.

“La delincuencia y el crimen organizado no tendrán tregua, porque en la República Dominicana en la actual gestión de gobierno del presidente Luis Abinader hay una voluntad política expresada en la Estrategia Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana “Mi País Seguro” y en la propia transformación y profesionalización de la Policía Nacional”, destacó.

Manifestó que los responsables del caos del pasado no tienen calidad moral, ni política para pedir la cabeza de nadie, en este gobierno, porque a diferencia de ellos el crimen no tiene padrinos.

Indicó que el gobierno no escatima esfuerzos, en el combate a la delincuencia, a fin de garantizar la seguridad ciudadana en todo el territorio nacional.

«Le garantizo al país que desde el Gobierno bajo ningún concepto vamos a permitir que desaprensivos alteren la paz y el orden en la República Dominicana, tanto así que la mayoría de los hechos que se han producido recientemente han ocurrido en aquellos lugares donde todavía no hemos llegado con la estrategia de seguridad ciudadana», precisó.

Resaltó también que en un hecho sin precedentes en la historia de la República Dominicana en los casi dos años de este gobierno se han decomisado más de 52 toneladas de distintos tipos drogas, como cocaína, marihuana, crack y éxtasis, así como en cooperación internacional con los países aliados, se ha contribuido desde la DNCD a la incautación de 9,704 kilos más.

“Pero, estos casos no quedan en el aire, tienen nombres y apellidos, resultando 39,440 malhechores detenidos y sometidos a la acción de la justicia, un 93 por ciento dominicanos y un 7 por ciento extranjeros, a diferencia de lo que ocurría en el pasado reciente”, reveló el ministro.

“Para que tengan una idea de lo que estamos hablando y la diferencia entre la actual gestión de gobierno y los que estuvieron antes, solo en lo que va de este año han sido incineradas en total casi 20 toneladas de distintas drogas ocupadas en las labores contra el narcotráfico que se llevan a cabo en todo el país”, indicó.
