El Ministerio de Cultura de la República Dominicana, a través del Viceministerio de Creatividad y Formación Artística, anunció la convocatoria para el XI Festival Internacional de Teatro RD 2023 (FITE RD 2023), que tendrá lugar en el mes de octubre del presente año y cuya sede será la ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros.

Dicha convocatoria, para aquellos interesados en participar en el FITE RD 2023, se encuentra abierta desde el lunes 12 de junio y concluirá el próximo 14 de julio.

El llamado va dirigido a grupos, elencos y compañías de teatro nacionales de carácter profesional con cinco o más años dedicados a las artes escénicas de manera continua en la República Dominicana, así como a aquellos extranjeros nacionalizados dominicanos o que cuenten con residencia de más de cinco años en el territorio nacional.

Giovanny Cruz, viceministro de Creatividad y Formación Artística, preside el Comité Organizador del XI FITE RD 2023, que también está integrado por Freddy Ginebra, coordinador de participación de compañías de teatro internacionales; Robinson Aybar, director del Centro Cultural Ercilia Pepín, de Santiago de los Caballeros, y Juana María Checo, directora del Gran Teatro del Cibao.

También conforman dicho comité Sergio Acosta, director de la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Santiago; Yanilsa Cruz, directora de Cultura de la Alcaldía de Santiago de los Caballeros, y Anny Samir, representante del sector teatral independiente.

Grupos, compañías o teatristas podrán enviar solo una propuesta por género y deberá tratarse de una obra estrenada hasta marzo de 2023, con preferencia en la dramaturgia, de acuerdo con lo que establecen las bases del festival.

Posteriormente, un Comité de Selección designado por el Comité Organizador del FITE RD 2023 tendrá la responsabilidad de escoger las obras nacionales que participarán en el festival, mientras que las compañías y/o producciones internacionales lo harán mediante invitaciones cursadas por el Ministerio de Cultura de la República Dominicana.

Serán admitidas obras para niños y jóvenes, así como aquellas dirigidas a público adulto, de cualquier género o vertiente: teatro callejero, performance, danza-teatro, teatro de títeres y teatro musical, entre otros, en pequeño, mediano y gran formato.

El Ministerio de Cultura aceptará solicitudes de obras teatrales con una duración mínima de 45 minutos, que tengan evidencia de haber sido presentadas por compañías profesionales en salas reconocidas y que no hayan participado en ninguna de las ediciones anteriores del FITE.

Este evento cultural bianual tiene la misión de consolidar el movimiento teatral del país, creando una plataforma de desarrollo para la difusión de los grupos, compañías y teatristas nacionales más relevantes y emergentes.
