Dando continuidad a su importante programa de inauguraciones, el presidente Luis Abinader entregó este miércoles, para su puesta en funcionamiento, el moderno Hospital Municipal de Esperanza, Dr. José Fausto Ovalles y el puente Gregorio Aracena sobre el canal Bogaert en el municipio de Mao, provincia Valverde.
Con una inversión de RD 660 millones, el centro fue construido sobre 2,372 metros cuadrados y tendrá capacidad para 28 camas de hospitalización, una moderna unidad de cuidados intensivos, además de equipamiento completo en las áreas de emergencia, inmunización, imágenes, ginecología, laboratorio, cirugía, consulta externa, maternidad, farmacia y 8 consultorios de especialidades generales, entre otros servicios médicos.
En tanto que, el puente Gregorio Aracena sobre el canal Bogaert en Mao es una obra que había sido reclamada por los moradores de toda la región desde hace varios años porque mantenía cientos de viviendas incomunicadas a ambos márgenes del canal. La construcción conllevó una inversión que supera los RD 13 millones.
Al entregar el hospital junto al ministro de la Vivienda y Edificaciones, Carlos Bonilla, y el director del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS), Mario Lama, el mandatario destacó el gran cambio y reforma que está haciendo su Gobierno en infraestructuras de salud.
En ese sentido, informó que en su gestión se están construyendo, solo en la Línea Noroeste, el hospital de Villa Vázquez, en Montecristi, previsto para entregarse a principios en el primer trimestre del próximo año y el de Dajabón, a principios del próximo año.
Asimismo, en Santiago, el Hospital de SAJOMA, San José de las Matas; el Regional de San Francisco de Macorís; Verón, en la Altagracia que se inaugurará en las próximas semanas; la segunda Unidad deTrauma del país que se construye en Azua y en licitación para adjudicación, el Hospital de la Maternidad de Barahona, antiguo Jaime Sánchez.
Además, citó la Naternidad del Hospital de la Mujer y del Marcelino Vélez, en Santo Domingo Oeste, el Hospital General de la provincia de Santo Domingo, el Mario Tolentino Dipp, que tenía varios años detenido será entregado en este verano.
El jefe de Estado resaltó también el Regional y la remodelación del Hospital Musa, en San Pedro de Macorís, así como el Hospital de Jarabacoa y esperan entregar en el tercer trimestre de este año, la remodelación del Hospital del municipio de El Seibo
El presidente Abinader aseguró que en proceso de reforma y cambio que está haciendo en el sector de la salud se han previsto los presupuestos y la contratación del personal especializado para su operación.
Administrando honradamente los recursos del Gobierno
“Hemos tenido con todas estas obras, sin aumentar los impuestos, disminuyendo en términos porcentuales la deuda pública que la encontramos en 62 % y está hoy en 59 % en relación con PIB; aun con eso, con gran disciplina, estamos construyendo porque estamos administrando honradamente los recursos del Gobierno”, manifestó el presidente Abinader.
En otro orden, el gobernante anunció que trabajan en un ambicioso proyecto de titulación juntamente con la Unidad Técnica Ejecutora de Titulación de Terrenos del Estado, el ayuntamiento y Bienes Nacionales para entregar unos 3,000 títulos de propiedad a residentes de este municipio de Esperanza. Definió esta acción como un verdadero impacto social, económico y de seguridad jurídica.
El nuevo hospital, ejecutado en 70 % por el MIVED, fue diseñado de acuerdo con las normas hospitalarias del Ministerio de Salud Pública (MSP), la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
Durante la entrega, el ministro Bonilla expresó que “hoy, una vez más, estamos aquí para hacer cumplir este noble propósito, y por eso haremos entrega formal de este centro, el Hospital Municipal de Esperanza Dr. José Fausto Ovalles en la provincia Valverde. El primero en este municipio y el más moderno de la provincia. Otra promesa cumplida de nuestro presidente Luis Abinader, que se toma sus palabras muy en serio.”
De su lado, el director del SNS, Mario Lama, afirmó que el presidente Abinader se ha convertido en un presidente histórico que está haciendo grandes transformaciones en toda la red pública de hospitales en todo el país y de las unidades de Atención Primaria, que se han convertido en centros que llevan la salud y mejoran las condiciones de vida del pueblo dominicano. Informó que a partir del próximo lunes 26 se iniciarán servicios a la población en el área de Emergencias y en un mes se está operando a nivel general.

Más temprano, el mandatario, junto con el ministro de Obras Públicas, Deligne Ascensión, dejó inaugurado el puente Gregorio Aracena sobre el canal Bogaert en Mao.
En el acto, el ministro de Obras Públicas indicó que se trata de una obra determinante para la vida cotidiana de la comunidad del sector Enriquillo, en el municipio de Santa Cruz de Mao, porque el puente sirve de comunicación alternativa para los sectores Enriquillo y los barrios Yerba de Guinea y Los Bonilla, además de mejorar la conexión también de zonas periféricas productoras de arroz, lo cual favorece la salida de los productos agrícolas provenientes de Las Hortensias y otras comunidades vecinas.
“El impacto social que tiene el puente Gregorio Aracena muestra cómo acciones de inversión pública relativamente pequeñas, representan cambios sustanciales en la calidad de vida de miles de dominicanos residentes en las comunidades que reclaman la atención de las autoridades nacionales. Por esas razones, puedo afirmar hoy, aquí desde el municipio de Mao, que con el apoyo y las orientaciones del presidente Luis Abinader, desde el Ministerio de Obras Públicas estamos construyendo las obras que transforman el país”, manifestó Ascensión.
Estuvieron presentes el viceministro de Vivienda y Edificaciones, Ney Rafael García; el senador de la provincia Valverde, Eddy Nolasco; la gobernadora Deysi Aquino; el alcalde del municipio de Mao, Odalis Rodríguez y el de Esperanza, Freddy Rodríguez; los diputados Gustavo Adolfo Rodríguez y Martha de Jesús Collado Ozoria de López; la directora del hospital, Marielis Sánchez, y el doctor Fausto Ovalles, entre otras personalidades.
