El presidente Luis Abinader inauguró el remozamiento de la Parroquia Santa María Madre de Dios, en el sector Mendoza, ejecutado por el Banco de Reservas.

El mandatario manifestó que siempre va a apoyar este tipo de obras, tanto de las iglesias católicas como cristianas, porque lo que busca realmente es la presencia de valores en todo el territorio nacional.

Además, expresó, buscan que las iglesias ayuden en la educación en valores de los jóvenes y que se conviertan en centros de las comunidades. "Eso siempre será de bien y de apoyo a los mejores intereses de nuestra sociedad. Seguiremos apoyando la presencia de las iglesias en todos nuestros sectores y todo nuestro país".

De su lado, el director general de Ingeniería del Banco de Reservas, René González, explicó que el remozamiento incluyó impermeabilización de techo, adecuación de interiores, instalaciones eléctricas e iluminación, instalaciones sanitarias y adecuación de baños, pintura general exterior e interior, mobiliario general y de sacristía; habitaciones, puertas y ventanas.

El párroco Rudy Belén expresó su agradecimiento por la entrega de esta obra y dijo que es una muestra de la voluntad política del presidente Abinader, para entregar una parroquia digna para esta comunidad.Estuvieron presentes en las actividades, los ministros, de la Presidencia, Joel Santos; Administrativo Interino de la Presidencia, Igor Rodríguez; el senador por la Provincia Santo Domingo, Antonio Taveras; la gobernadora Julia Drullard; el alcalde de Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez; los directores, del Instituto Agrario Dominicano, Francisco Guillermo García; de Bienes Nacionales y el CEA, Rafael Burgos; de Catastro Nacional, Héctor Mirambeaux.
