La Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) informó que se encuentra en ejecución el proyecto de construcción de un trasvase para llevar 27.41 millones de galones de agua diarios al municipio Santo Domingo Norte desde la zona oriental, con una inversión de más de 923 millones de pesos.

El director de la entidad, Felipe Suberví -Fellito- explicó que el proyecto se desarrolla a través de la Unidad Ejecutora para mejorar sustancialmente el servicio de agua potable en esa demarcación por un período de diez años, en beneficio paraa más de 300,000 habitantes.

Dijo que la institución utilizará los componentes a través de la estación de bombeo de El Tamarindo 1 y líneas de impulsión, lo que abarca varios tramos entre la estación El Tamarindo 2, la Charles de Gaulle, carretera Mella, La Victoria y Sabana Perdida. También se harán por una línea matriz que va desde el Cruce La Virgen, Los Restauradores, La Victoria, Sabana Perdida y el puente La Barquita.

Actualmente, el municipio Santo Domingo Norte posee una capacidad instalada de 43.40 millones de galones por día. Esta cantidad presenta un déficit promedio de 20.00 millones de galones. Con la construcción de este nuevo sistema se garantizaría un servicio de agua potable eficiente por muchos años.

“Este proyecto de remozamiento tiene como objetivo derivar 1.20 metros cúbicos de agua por segundo (27.41mgd) y abastecer de agua potable a decenas de sectores que tienen problemas con el suministro”, informó el director de la CAASD.

Entre los sectores que serán beneficiados con el proyecto se encuentran: Cancino Adentro, Lotes y Servicios, Sabana Centro, Sabana Perdida, ensanche Cristal, Altos de Sabana Perdida, Salomé Ureña, El Majagual, Los Guaricanos, Valle Hermoso, urbanización Charles de Gaulle, Villa Mella, Villa Esperanza, Los Conucos, Los Palmares y proyectos del BNV.

El director de la CAASD inspecciona cada semana, junto a su equipo de trabajo, las obras que la entidad construye para mejorar el servicio de agua potable en diferentes comunidades del Gran Santo Domingo. Asimismo, supervisa el saneamiento de más de 25 kilómetros de cañadas que se encuentran en fase de ejecución, de un total de 42 kilómetros.
