SANTO DOMINGO.- El alcalde del municipio de Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, estaría interrumpiendo el proceso de transición hacia las nuevas autoridades electas, encabezadas por Dío Astacio.

Manuel Jiménez, quien en su momento prometió transformar el municipio a través de una administración transparente y eficaz, ha sido criticado por haber realizado todo lo contrario durante los últimos cuatro años de su gestión.

Se esperaba que el funcionario edilicio iba a transformar el municipio e iba a realizar una excelente labor, fruto de un ejercicio diáfano en la administración de dicho cabildo.

Sin embargo, ha sido todo lo contrario, al destacarse que el alcalde ha contagiado a sus munícipes de una carga de rechazo, por su mala gestión de 4 años, que apenas finaliza al ser sustituido por Dío Astacio, electo en los pasados comicios municipales.

El alcalde, cuyo mandato está llegando a su fin, ha sido acusado de obstaculizar el proceso de transición al no recibir a la Comisión de Traspaso de Mando de la Alcaldía de Santo Domingo Este.

Además, se le critica por no entregar los documentos requeridos y negarse a participar en las reuniones programadas con el equipo del alcalde electo, Dío Astacio, de manera sorpresiva

De acuerdo a los informes, esta situación ha generado tensiones y preocupaciones sobre la continuidad administrativa y la gobernanza del municipio.
