El Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología (MESCYT), Microsoft y Red Qualitas, suscribieron un convenio de colaboración con la meta de formar y certificar a un total de 6,000 docentes y estudiantes avanzados de las carreras de Educación, entre junio del 2022 y marzo del 2024.
El convenio, suscrito por el titular del MESCYT, Franklin García Fermín; la directora de Microsoft Educación para el Caribe, Carla López, y el director de Red Qualitas, Herrera Alberto Aunchayna, contempla que los programas formativos se realicen en los laboratorios o las salas digitales disponibles en las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES) dominicanas, bajo la coordinación del Ministerio, con una duración de 78 horas académicas, en una modalidad de aprendizaje híbrido.
El programa incluye un entrenamiento orientado a la preparación específica del examen internacional MCE 62-193 (Microsoft Certified Educator), con disponibilidad de hasta 6,000 licencias para presentar dicho examen en un centro de examinación autorizado que se configurará, validará y funcionará al menos en 2 de las IES beneficiarias.
El ministro del MESCYT, Franklin García Fermín, indicó que la firma del convenio tendrá efectos positivos a corto plazo, debido a que las partes se han comprometido a aportar todo lo que sea necesario para el logro efectivo de los objetivos comunes en beneficio del conglomerado social.
“Agradezco a Microsoft y a Red Qualitas la gentileza de contribuir a la concreción de este pacto tripartito, con el cual se mejora la calidad de la educación en la República Dominicana”, puntualizó.
Asimismo, el viceministro de Ciencia y Tecnología del MESCYT, Genaro Rodríguez Martínez, explicó que este es el único programa en el mundo que evalúa que los educadores adquieran competencias tecnológicas en las seis áreas de contenido en materia de Tecnología de la Información y Comunicación (TIC).
Agenda Digital
Mientras que el director de Coordinación y Seguimiento de la Agenda Digital del Ministerio de la Presidencia, Reyson Lizardo, subrayó los importantes pasos que realiza el Gobierno para estar a la vanguardia en materia de TIC y desarrollo de la agenda.
De su lado, el director de Educación de Microsoft para Latinoamérica, Luciano Braverman, junto a su partner y CEO de Red Qualitas, Alberto Aunchayna, destacaron la trascendencia de los proyectos que desarrollan en coordinación con el MESCYT, al tiempo de agradecer la colaboración de los dominicanos para hacer posible la eficacia de los programas.
“En Microsoft apoyamos el acceso a las tecnologías en favor de la innovación, educación y productividad, porque creemos que son pilares determinantes para el desarrollo de los países y la mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas. Con esta firma, buscamos brindar las herramientas necesarias para que estudiantes y profesores de las IES desarrollen al máximo su potencial,” señaló Carla López, directora de Microsoft Educación para el Caribe.
Microsoft, la compañía líder en la industria de las tecnologías de la información, está comprometida con el desarrollo de capacidades digitales que mejoren el desempeño del ecosistema educativo en el país. A su vez, Red Qualitas será la institución responsable del desarrollo académico del programa y del proceso de entrenamiento, simulación y presentación del examen internacional MCE 62-193.
El convenio entrará en vigor a partir de su firma, 05 de julio de 2022, hasta el 31 de marzo de 2024.
Estuvieron presentes los viceministros del MESCYT, María López Polanco, Carmen Evarista Matías y Juan Francisco Viloria, así como los directores Juan Medina, Andrés Merejo y Francisco Bautista, además del director general de la Oficina Gubernamental de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación, Pedro Antonio Quesada.
También asistió el director general de Tecnología de la Información del Ministerio de Educación, en representación del Gabinete de Innovación, Julián Ramírez, junto a los rectores y representantes de las universidades, Marilyn Díaz, Antonio Medina y Cristian Matos.
